The purpose of Business Services is to provide the support and infrastructure needed by our schools to carry on the important work of educating the children of our community. Our number one job is to continuously improve the learning environment for all our students. Business Services addresses a wide range of issues, including legal, contractual, and risk management concerns. Below are the major areas that Business Services addresses:

 

Nutritional Services: Nutritional Services of Helendale School District is committed to recognizing that good nutrition and learning go hand-in-hand. Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served meet State and Federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines, including more fruits and vegetables while limiting calories and sodium. Our team works diligently to provide nutritious meals that fuel student success throughout the school day.

 

Transportation: Transportation ensures our students get to school safely and on time. Our buses serve the Helendale community and surrounding areas, providing reliable transportation while maintaining the highest safety standards. We continue to explore cost-saving ideas while keeping student safety as the top priority.

 

Fiscal Services: Fiscal Services provides oversight and comprehensive accounting management for the district's operating budget. Detailed and informational reports dealing with all aspects of the District's finances are provided to the Board of Education, the public, and various state and federal agencies. Fiscal Services encompasses accounts payable, accounts receivable, attendance, budget management, payroll, and benefits.

 

Maintenance and Operations: Maintenance and Operations supports our school sites serving students across Helendale Elementary School, Riverview Middle School, and the Academy of Careers and Exploration. This dedicated department oversees Custodial Services, Grounds, and Maintenance. They enhance our educational environment through tasks ranging from landscaping to facility improvements. From painting to carpentry, they are the people behind the scenes who keep everything running smoothly.

 

Facilities: Facilities oversees structural planning, architectural design, and building projects. This department works to maintain and improve educational facilities at all our sites, ensuring that our students and staff have safe, modern, and conducive learning environments.
