CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT

All students grades K-12 are eligible to take advantage of the opportunity to take college classes at little to no cost through the concurrent enrollment program.  Victor Valley College and Barstow College both allow students to enroll in their courses for full credit.  Taking the appropriate classes now could mean that your student will be earning transferable college credit while still enrolled in Helendale School District.  I

See your counselor for more information.

TRANSCRIPTS

Transcripts are sent out at your request.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you have requested and provided ample time for transcripts to be sent out to meet deadlines.  Fill out a transcript request form in the front office to have your records sent to the colleges and programs of your choice.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

ATTENTION SENIORS!

Need a letter of recommendation for a college or scholarship application?  Here are some suggestions regarding how to go about getting the one you'll need:

♦Create a list of the accomplishments you'd specifically like noted.  Include GPA, Honor Roll awards, sports achievements, leadership positions, community involvement, and any other nominations you may have received throughout high school.  Make the appropriate number of copies so that each person writing a letter will get this list.

♦Identify the teachers/coaches/leaders that you would like to receive a letter from and provide them with your list.

♦Ensure that you give them adequate time to get the letter back to you.  I would suggest at least ONE WEEK.

♦It will be in your best interest to have a hard copy of the letter as well as a digital file to email or upload when necessary.
