Human Resources supports the people who serve our students. From recruiting and hiring qualified staff to supporting employees throughout their careers, the department works to build a welcoming, professional, and student-centered workplace. Human Resources oversees recruitment, hiring, employee benefits, credentialing, and personnel support, helping ensure that every school and every classroom is staffed with caring, capable professionals dedicated to the success of every child.
Matthew Berryman
Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
Matthew Berryman serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, bringing 25 years of experience in education and a strong commitment to supporting students, families, staff, and the school community.
His career began in the classroom as a teacher, where he supported students both academically and through extracurricular involvement as a volleyball coach and advisor for student organizations such as FBLA, Senior Senate, and many others. He has also served in several school leadership roles, including Vice Principal, Assistant Principal, and Principal.
Through these experiences, Matthew has developed a deep understanding of the important role that schools play in the lives of students and families. He is committed to helping create a welcoming, supportive, and student-centered environment where staff feel valued, parents feel connected, and students have the opportunity to thrive.

Matthew looks forward to serving Helendale School District and working alongside parents, students, employees, and community partners to support the success of every child.
Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time outdoors, including golfing, camping, and fishing. He and his wife have six children, ranging in age from 19 to 26, who are at various stages of life, including college, military service, and post-graduation.
