Why are we closing?

The nation declared the COVID-19 virus a national emergency on March 13th, 2020. We feel this decision is in the best interest for the safety of the students, the community, and our employees.

Will the district be providing other services? 

The district will not be providing other services during school closure.

Will the school year be extended into the summer?

No, because this is a state of emergency these days will be excused from the school year.

What learning opportunities are available for my child to enhance them academically?

All Helendale School District students have access to our computerized learning programs. This can be accessed using Clever: https://clever.com/in/helendale-school-dist5cc56680001d02a76


How do I find out information regarding my employment?

All employees are encouraged to check their district email as we will be emailing them pertinent work related email.  will we still be serving food?

Beginning on Monday meals will be provided to all students of the district at Helendale Secondary School. Because of the short notice only lunch will be provided on Monday, in a grab and go format between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. 

Beginning on Tuesday the District will provide breakfast and lunch in a grab and go format for any student in the district. The food will be provided in a lunch bag that the student can pick up and take home with them. Each morning between 9 and 11 the breakfast and lunch will be provided for pickup only at the secondary school for all students of the District.  on Monday lunch will be PBJ sandwiches which may not be safe for children with food allergies.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to provide your children with a quality lunch program during this school closure.
